Just after college, I did a short stint as a preschool teacher. I'm pretty sure those kids taught me more than I ever taught them. One of the quotes we used in the classroom has always stuck with me. It's from the late Dr. Seuss: "The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go." I am an avid reader and believe reading can open up a great big world for people right in their own homes. I also believe the reverse is true...the more places you go, the more that you learn.
After a recent job relocation, our family moved from one of the top tourist destinations in the U.S. (where a certain famous mouse resides) to Small Town, U.S.A. Now that my 3 children are all sleeping through the night and potty trained (hallelujah!), I want to become more intentional about opening their eyes to this great big world through travel. My husband and I also enjoy occasional adults only trips because let's face it, parents need a break every once in a while and it's nice to spend some time connecting to your other half.
I created this blog to journal our experiences, to have a place to talk about our favorite way to experience a new place...through local food, and to bring back recipes to try at home so we can experience a little taste of different places and cultures right from our own dining table. I've also turned my hobby into a career by becoming a travel agent. I specialize in Disney trips, and would love to help you plan a magical trip. Thanks for stopping by!
