Wife. Mom. Good food lover. Travel enthusiast.
Closet writer - coming out.
My name is Stephanie and I am a wife and mom of 3 kids. Right out of college, I did a short stint as a preschool teacher. I'm pretty sure those kids taught me more than I could've ever hoped to teach them. One of the quotes we used in the classroom has always stayed with me. It's from the late, great Dr. Seuss: "The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go." I am an avid reader and truly believe reading can open up a great big world to everyone. I also believe the reverse is true....the more places you go, the more that you learn.
After a recent job relocation, our family moved from one of the top tourist destinations in the U.S. (where a certain mouse resides) to Small Town, USA. Now that my children are all sleeping through the night, are potty trained, and can generally act like decent human beings for longer stretches (Hallelujah!), I want to become more intentional about opening their eyes up to this great big world through traveling to new places. My husband and I also enjoy occasional adults only trips because let's face it, parents need a break every once in a while and it's nice to spend some time connecting with your other half.
I created this blog to journal our experiences, offer advice from what we've learned, to have a place to talk about our favorite way to experience new places...through local food of course, and to bring back recipes to try at home so we can experience a little taste of different places and cultures right from our own dining room table. Thanks for stopping by!
